She did wear in America, she spoke proper English, all the things that Americans could do she could besides do. But going to Chinese school ment that she also had to arrest part in her natural heritage of Chinese. She is non seeing the cup of tea of the language itself, shes only hearing the outdoors and context of Americans speaking English.
If she had only taken the time to pull ahead that wad of all different decents are going finished what she is. a lot people that are bi-lingual have better chances if aquiring jobs in areas where at that place is a need for individuals that can speak more than one language. Being able to speak Chinese or perspicacious the history of where she came from does not make her any little of an American or any greater Chinese.
